Venereal warts [also known as genital warts with the medical name - Condylomata Acuminate] caused by the HP virus [Human Pappiloma Virus] and can be flat or cauliflower shaped. The infection is mainly located in, on or around the genital area of the infected person. Occurring mainly in the young adult [around 20 years old], it is transferred through direct skin-to-skin contact [unprotected sex, oral sex, etc] and has dormant and active stages.
In the dormant stage, no symptoms associated with this infection are present and no warts are visible [at all] but the infected person can still pass on the HPV, so it is imperative that you use protection when having sex [even if you are not infected this is still very important, this is for your own protection].
In the active stage, the genital warts are very noticeable [and quite ugly]; having unprotected sex in the active stage is a guarantee that the sexual partner will get herpes [at least 70%] if not genital warts.
