HPV is the cause of cancer of the cervix in women and the cause of genital warts in both women and men. Men with an HPV infection are carriers who can spread the infection to both current and future partners. Women with HPV should not be treated in isolation, the partner must be evaluated and potentially treated in order to minimize the chance of recurrences. Treatment of the other partner is also necessary in order to minimize the chance of transmission to future partners.
There are dozens of strains of HPV which may occur in the genital area. High risk strains 16 and 18 are the cause of 70% of all cases of cancer of the cervix. Low risk strains 6 and 11 are the cause of 90% of all cases of genital warts. High risk strains in women are frequently associated with HPV infections that persist and do not resolve over time. The low risk strains do not have any potential to progress to cancer of the cervix but can cause problematic and highly contagious genital warts. Women in Columbia are receiving free contraceptive services, like drugs and surgical procedures. Recently Congress passed a law which enables poor women in Columbia to get free services, as part of the program to prevent rising cases of unwanted pregnancies.
Columbia is itself facing shortage of revenue in maintaining the proper health care system, but experts suggest that this program would benefit a lot, as it would ultimately reduce high costs involved in pregnancies like maternal and neonatal care. Genital wart is a kind of sexually transmitted disease that can be found in both men and women. It is usually found around the genital and anal region of the body, but can spread to the mouth and face. There are plenty of ways to treat genital warts, from medical help to simply buying some creams or drops. The infection is easy to locate on a male – usually on the tip on the penis. However, discovering is on women is much harder, which is why women suffer more from the STD.
First of all, you should know that the STD is very common and is also very irritating when you get it from a partner. On women, it can grow around the anus, around the vagina and inside the vagina. This is why it is hard to find when it is inside, because there are normally no clearly visible signs of it until fully developed. The infection itself is a very rapid growing. Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is spread via skin-to-skin contact, normally during vaginal, oral, or anal sex. HPV has no fewer than 100 types, of which 40 cause genital warts, but the biggest culprits are HPV 6 and HPV 11.
Genital warts in women are typically found in or around the vagina, on the thighs, or around the anus and could be small and pink or whiter and risen and in certain cases, they are grouped and from clusters. Certain types of the human papillomavirus infect the anogenital tract and cause cervical cancer; however, they are not the strains that cause genital warts. Diagnosing the infection is done by a physician who conducts visual examination of the genital area and internal examination of the vagina or the anus. In some cases, he might also take a small sample (biopsy) from a wart and send it to a laboratory for testing. Continue reading ‘Overview Of Genital Warts In Women’ »

It is now common knowledge that genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease and the culprit is the Herpes Simplex Virus type 2. The major cause of propagation of this virus is intimate sexual contact. Sex being an instinctive behavior of every adult, it becomes very difficult to find a way to prevent this virus from propagating and save the unsuspecting victims from a possible infection. Perhaps, that is the reason, why so many people in America today fall victim to this virus and the increasing number of genital herpes in women.
On an average, one out of every eight men has genital herpes, whereas, in case of women, it is one out of every four. According to the Centers for Disease Control, genital herpes caused by the HSV-II virus is more prevalent in women because they catch it easily than their spouses. The female genital organ is one which is internally folded into a receiving tube. To keep it in good order it is internally lined with mucosal cells and it is the nature of these cells to always secrete mucous into the folds. Mucous being rich in water and other organic substances is a fertile medium for micro organisms to thrive and breed. This is one of the major reasons why women are so prone to genital herpes infections and is the first disadvantage for women. Continue reading ‘Genital Herpes In Women And Finding A Cure For It’ »

Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease, which is caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 or type 2. Many people infected with this virus do not see any noticeable symptoms. Usually, blisters around the rectum and genitals are the first and most common signs of this genital infection. These blisters become dry and break out after a while and are replaced by ulcers, which can last for about a month during the first outbreak, which is generally the most painful time to get through. Outbreaks, which occur after the first one, are relatively less severe and manageable. Although, this infection can be treated, it cannot be cured. Sexually transmitted diseases are a reality in today’s society and understanding how to avoid exposure to them and detecting their symptoms can help you live a healthier life. Many of the most common STD’s can be transferred between partners with a single sexual encounter and may take months to develop symptoms. This makes detection especially difficult and increases the changes of passing these STD’s along to other partners. Even though there may be particular symptoms that are more prevalent in certain types of STD’s, there are 3 common symptoms of STD’s for women that are present in many of them. If you experience any of these symptoms you should schedule a visit with your doctor to see if you require treatment.
The most common symptom that accompanies many of the STD’s is pain in the lower abdomen or groin area. This pain may only appear for short periods of time but can be quite severe when it does occur. In women this type of pain can also extend to the vaginal canal and may occur during sex for certain STD’s. For other forms of disease like genital herpes the pain may be more localized and accompany the outbreak of lesions. This pain may also happen during urination and may also involve a burning sensation that becomes worse over time if treatment is not started. Continue reading ‘Common Symptoms of STDs in Women’ »

Genital herpes in women is an infection caused by the HSV virus. It is sexually transmitted and it spreads very fast. The virus causing the genital herpes can’t be eliminated from the body once it reaches the nerves of the spinal cord. It gets in the body thorough microscopic tears in the genital area and then it settles there forever. The first outbreak usually appears in 2-14 days after contamination. There are also people who don’t experience a first outbreak, even though they have the virus. This does not mean that they don’t spread it. This is one of the main reasons why genital herpes is so common. Some people might not even know they have it and they spread it to others and so on.
In those who develop symptoms, these become less severe after the first outbreak. The herpes in women usually has an outbreak when the women are weak or have a weakened immune system. Women facing a large amount of stress or those who have recently been ill are very likely to suffer of genital herpes if they already have the virus.
